Called to love one another, we commit ourselves to be in solidarity with one another, especially with those who are in need, oppressed, or marginalized. Called to love our neighbor, we extend ways of caring and acts of love to our neighbor both near and far away.
Appalachia Service Project
During each Christmas break we travel to one of the year-round Appalachia Service Project centers (Brenton, West Virginia; Chavies, Kentucky; Jonesville Virginia) to help make homes warmer, safer, and drier. We grow as we serve others, experience Christian formation and fellowship, and make and deepen friendships.
Acts of Compassion
The Chapel Steward of Compassion organizes an event each month during the school year giving students, faculty, and staff at the University an opportunity to reach out and help others. Such opportunities have included trips to nursing homes, food pantries, soup kitchens, youth programs, and working with the Indianapolis Habitat for Humanity Chapter.
